Class Motto

Today is the day to learn something new!

Curriculum and Content Learned

This year is going to be packed with fun and interactive learning opportunities. I am so excited for what we have in store for you. As a school, we follow the Common Core Standards, which can be found here:
http://www.corestandards.org/read-the-standards/

We will be focused on the main subject areas through the year, at various times. You can expect an update each week, right here, for the content that will be covered.

Reading: We will be learning about the Author's Point of View and Main Idea. The story that we will be focused on is called "Throw Your Tooth on the Roof: Tooth Traditions Around the World" by Selby Beeler.

Please continue to encourage your child to read.

Math: We will continue to practice our addition and subtraction. I have included links to math games and helpful worksheets located in the Resources Page to provide additional help if your child may be struggling in this area.

ScienceOur science unit involves the topics of heavy and light. The students will be performing experiments with objects to determine which objects are heavy and which are light.

Spelling: Our spelling list is short and sweet this week. Please encourage your child to practice the words so that he/she is ready for the spelling tests.
